The Senate approved the maintenance law of the air conditioning system. All buildings, public or private, will be required to maintain your air conditioning systems. This is what determines Law 13,589 / 2018, sanctioned on Thursday (4) and published this Friday (5) in the Union's Official Gazette.

The buildings will have to maintain the air conditioning systems from a maintenance plan, operation and control, with the aim of preventing or minimizing occupied health risks.

The plan should comply with parameters regulated by Resolution 9/2003 of the National Sanitary Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) and subsequent amendments, as well as the rules of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT).

The goal is to ensure good indoor air quality, considering temperature, humidity, speed, renewal rate and degree of purity. This will assist in preserving appliances and air quality.

The law will be applied to all buildings, but the air-conditioned restricted environments - laboratories and hospitals, for example - should comply with specific regulations.
